PERFIL BIOGRAFICO DE GLORIA MIRABAL

Gloria Mirabal, una de las grandes intérpretes más admiradas de los años 60 y 70 nació en la ciudad de Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. Como cantante femenina, es dueña una voz privilegiada y melodiosa, un estilo y ritmo impecables, y un temperamento en escena incomparable. A lo largo de su trayectoria artística ha grabado sobre una decena de discos y se ha presentado en prestigiosas salas de Hispanoamérica, así como importantes ciudades de Estados Unidos.
Con casi cuatro décadas de carrera artística, se le recuerda constantemente por sus maravillosas interpretaciones de los temas "Adoro" de Armando Manzanero; "El Rosario de mi Madre", un vals peruano de Mario Cavagnaro; "Están Enamorados" de Julio Gutiérrez en adición a las canciones de los más reconocidos e importantes compositores puertorriqueños. La calidad interpretativa, hermosa voz y presencia de esta distinguida cantante boricua, le ha ganado los más caros elogios de la crítica y la ha colocado en contacto con muchas de las más sobresalientes figuras del mundo de la música popular en Puerto Rico, Miami, Chicago, Nueva York, México, República Dominicana, Centro y Sur América.
Los premios otorgados a Gloria Mirabal por entidades culturales, cívicas, educativas y políticas han sido tantos que tomaría varias páginas enumerarlos todos. Entre ellos, recibió el "Premio de Excelencia del Passaic Community College", así como una Proclama del Ex-Presidente del Concilio de la ciudad de Nueva York, Andrew Stein por su labor como "Embajadora de la Música Latina en Nueva York. Recibió también varios premios de la Asociación de Cronistas de Espectáculos de Nueva York (ACE), el trofeo por Excelencia otorgado por la Asociación Cubana en el Exilio; el primer premio por sus interpretaciones de música popular presentado por el Instituto de Cultura de Puerto Rico en Nueva York, etc. La cantante Gloria Mirabal ha recorrido con su gran talento musical las más prestigiosas salas y night clubs del mundo.
This humble journalist who specializes in entertainment, was an active member of ACE in New York during the final years of the 80's decade when, as founder and then Executive Director of the Café Theater Julio de Burgos, produced a great concert in its hall for this wonderful Puerto Rican signer that will eternally live in the memories and hearts of those who know how to enjoy good singing by a great artist, of which Gloria Mirabal is no doubt one. Gloria Mirabal, one of the greatest and most admired singers of the 60's and 70's, was born in the city of Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. As a female singer, she possesses a uniquely melodious voice, an impeccable style and rhythm, and an incomparable stage presence. During her long artistic career, she has recorded a dozen records and has performed in prestigious venues in Latin America, as well as major cities in the United States.
With an artistic career spanning almost four decades, she is constantly remembered for her marvelous renditions of the songs “Adoro” by Armando Manzanero; "El Rosario de Mi Madre", a waltz by Peruvian Mario Cavagnaro; "Están Enamorados" by Julio Gutiérrez, in addition to songs by the most important and well-known Puerto Rican composers. Her interpretive ability, beautiful voice and presence of this distinguished Puerto Rican singer, have earned her critical acclaim and has placed her in the company of the most outstanding figures in the world of popular music in Puerto Rico, Miami, Chicago, New York, México, Dominican Republic, and Cental and South America.
The awards bestowed on Gloria Mirabal by cultural, civic, education and political entities are so voluminous that to list them all would take various pages. Among them, she received the “Award of Excellence from Passaic Community College", as well as a Proclamation by the Ex-President of the City Council of New York City, Andrew Stein, for her work as “Embassador of Latin Music in New York.” She also received various awards from the Association of Entertainment Columnists of New York (ACE); the Excellence trophy bestowed by the Cuban Exile Association; the first award, for her interpretations of popular music, presented by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture of New York, etc. Gloria Mirabal, the singer, by virtue of her great talent, has appeared in the most prestigious halls and night clubs in the world.
